About this Store
In 1994 my brother Howard
bugged me to let him make a website of my work on an internet that was
just becoming publicly accessible. When I finally and reluctantly agreed
I was just about the only mural artist on the internet much less one of
the only artists. Yahoo almost immediately gave us a "cool site' rating
and it was novel. Yet it was so new it really didn't generate much response.
Of course slowly things changed and it has served us well.
In the same way many visitors to my site in recent
years have requested prints or posters. So we are finally responding
to this request by launching this online store. This is both a new retail
opportunity for patrons of my work and a forum for feedback and customer
participation.
You are in Control
Your suggestions
will ultimately run the store. You will decide on the inventory and
we will stock the shelves. You will select new media directions and
by what means to bring these trompe l'oeil images to your homes. You
will determine the images. Perhaps there is a particular mural that
you'd like to have a signed print of or maybe you have a good idea for
me to apply like standard door-size images, which someone recently suggested.
The point of this new online store isn't just to sell you art but to
find ways to make trompe l'oeil art available to average residential
art lovers. Send us ideas for making a sort of ..." trompe l'oeil
in a box." We're listening.
John Pugh
Take a journey
into John Pugh's painted illusions. Explore an old forgotten passage.
Discover a room of ancient Chinese art. Or contemplate nature forcing
itself into a different context to become an alcoved art form.
Pugh is a master
of architectural trompe l'oeil. By fully integrating his art into the
architecture, the viewer is perplexed as to where reality begins. Once
captivated, the viewer enters into another dimension of time and place.
John Pugh's creative
energy, easy manner, and ability to articulate the client's concepts
into a singular solution for each site, make him a favorite choice among
private collectors as well as architects and designers who serve discriminating
clients.
John Pugh's large
and small scale murals are designed to meet exacting specifications
and architectural requirements. Attention to detail from design through
final installation is his hallmark.
John's rare craftsmanship
and custom pigments mean brilliant, archival colors and easy maintenance.
